  The original Hoagies invented by the DiCostanza family in Chester Pa on 3rd St. Later moved to current location in Marcus Hook, Pa. My mother born 1919 grew up 2 blocks from the original shop in Chester. She 6 yr old when The matriarch (great grandmother of current owners ) opened the store. She invented the Hoagie. My Mother began eating DiCostanza's Hoagies in the 1920's (my father's side of the family began late eating DiCostanza's in the 1940's) & our family (4 generations) have been eating them ever since. These huge, delicious sandwiches are a pure delight & remain AUTHENTIC with perfect bread, meats, provolone cheese & seasoning. Olive oil.... Just like the 1920's. Never mayo. Sometime in the 1970's imitators found out that adding lettuce allowed them to add less meat & cheese. Their roast beef Hoagies and turkey Hoagies are also excellent. I Highly recommend this truly authentic Hoagie shop with it's historic delicious sandwiches. MB of Media, Pa now D.C.

  Augie works quickly and makes the best hoagie. The hoagies are fully loaded with meats and the homemade sweets and hots are amazing.
